Started up eu4 looked at the mods tab completely empty. Aytumious First Lieutenant 18 Badges. Jun 20, You need to go into your library then go to properties for EU4 and make sure Enable Steam Cloud Synchronization is checked under the Updates tab. It doesn't matter if you use cloud saves, for some reason you need to have that checked for mods to update properly.

I have subscribed to mods on the workshop, waited for them to finish downloading, and then they don't appear in the launcher. I've been trying direct downloads but I'll be the first to tell you that I'm not very good with files and such. And consequently I'm not sure whether I've put directly downloaded files in the correct places or not.
And since I cna't isolate the variables I'm not entirely sure what exactly the problem is. I'm reminded of a similar problem from Civ V that I often dealt with. Though I did have a solution for that issue: deleting a folder labeled "chache" would force the games mod launcher to recaculate. And consequently make the mods appear. I don't know if there is a similar fix for this or even if it is the same problem.
But I figure more data is better than less for anyone out there who wants to give me some adviece. The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question. Click here to jump to that post. Originally posted by Manatee-Faucet Noise! Showing 1 - 15 of 15 comments.
Azoniar View Profile View Posts. Ive had the same problem. Enable steam cloud and it should be fixed, atleast it did for me. Go to eu4 properties then updates and tick the box that says steam cloud synchronization. Was already done. Hope you can find another solution man. Manatee-Faucet Noise! The location you want your mods depends on the OS you use.
Also be sure the mod folder is all lower case as it may be case sensitive. Hopefully this helps. Silly question but I never thought to rollback and see if that worked. I assumed they would appear in the launcher with the accompaning message: "This mod is compatible with version X". However I have downloaded several mods that are up-to-date, and none of them downloaded either. Manatee Lampost: I appreciate your willingingness to help, so I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I didn't understand that at all.
This is less a reflection of the clarity of your instructions as it is a reflection of one crucial fact: I am an imbecile. To elaborate, when it comes to code and folders I am exceptionally I am exceptionally ignorant and not for lack of effort on the part of my friends who are more informed than I. But I am exceptionally thick, so I ask. With utmost sincerity and humility: That you explain this to me as you would an exceptionally stupid child, or a golden retriever, or an exceptionally stupid golden retreiver.
The part of your instructions which are bothering me the the most right now: What exactly is a zip file? And how am I to differentiate it with other such files. I ask this because, having a paradox account I attempted a direct download of a mod I wanted from Paradoxplaza as I have heard that this fixes the issue.
I would also like to apologise for not repsonding immediatly, I was busy other activities.
